The City of Marshall provides health, dental and life insurance coverage for all
full-time employees. Premiums for health, dental and $10,000 of life coverage
are paid by the City. Employees pay 100% of any dependent coverage. Also,
the employee is offered numerous choices for voluntary life, cancer, accident,
and disability coverage. Premiums for any of these voluntary insurances are
paid by the employee.
 
Bi-weekly premiums for the City’s health and dental coverage beginning
10/01/07 are as follows:

Each full-time City of Marshall employee contributes 7% of their gross salary
to Texas Municipal Retirement System. The City matches the employee’s
contribution 2 to 1. The employee is vested after 5 years of service and may
retire at age 60 or at any age after completing 20 years of service. 
 
Firefighters are eligible for Retirement after 20 years of service and age 50
with 10 year vesting.
