Marshall Visual Art Center
New life from an old building -- the best of all worlds in the Marshall Visual
Art Center. A laundry building in its original life, the beautifully redone building houses a
variety of activities. Artists in residence rent spaces flooded with light thanks to the clerestory
windows. These artists not only have great workspace but also have the opportunity to interact
with other artists and show their work. Original works of art are available for sale
including paintings, pottery, sculpture and handmade items of all descriptions. Open Monday
through Friday.
The Banquet/Creativity Hall is a large open room with great natural lighting
serving many needs -- banquets, meetings, weddings, church groups, etc. At night you can party
under the stars thanks to twinkle lights on the ceiling. Accommodates up to 350 people.
Each year nine art exhibits in the Gallery display works from regional artists.
Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.
Children's Art Camp allows young ones ages 4 to 12 to have fun while

$85.00 per week for students ages 6 - 12 and $35.00 for ages 4 and 5 including all
supplies. Three 1-week sessions begin in July. Partial scholarships based on financial need
are available. This program is partially sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts and the
National Endowment for the Arts.
